Our Story

Amaryllis Day Nursery & Preschool has grown from a small preschool community into a warm, purpose-built nursery setting in the heart of Old Trafford. Our journey began in 2014 at Kings Road Primary School, supporting children aged 2–3 years as they took their first steps in learning. In 2017, we opened our day nursery within the Limelight complex, offering full-time childcare for children aged 3months – 5 years. We are proud to be deeply rooted in the local community, providing a safe, familiar, and nurturing place where each child is welcomed and supported as they learn, grow, and form lasting friendships.

Our Approach

We follow a child-led approach that encourages children to explore, create, and discover through meaningful play, fully aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Our experienced team plans activities that support each area of learning and development, stretching imagination, building communication, and strengthening problem-solving skills. Every child is recognised as an individual with their own interests, abilities, and pace of development, as outlined in the EYFS principles.

We nurture curiosity, confidence, and emotional well-being through gentle guidance and positive interactions, promoting the Characteristics of Effective Learning. Our environment is inclusive, stimulating, and thoughtfully organised to inspire learning across all EYFS areas—both indoors and outdoors—ensuring children have rich, daily opportunities to learn, play, and grow

Our Community

We believe that children learn best when nursery and families work in partnership. We value open communication and encourage parents and carers to play an active role in their child’s journey with us. Through parent engagement activities, Tapestry learning journals, and regular discussions, we build a shared understanding of each child’s needs, progress, and achievements. As part of Kings Road Primary School and the Limelight, children benefit from connections with local spaces, community groups, and intergenerational activities. At Amaryllis, we aim to nurture not only strong learners but confident, kind, and connected individuals who feel secure, supported, and celebrated every day.
